Optimal orthopaedic treatment for damaged shoulders, upper & lower limbs
Each year, over a thousand Victorians trust us to treat their injured shoulders and upper and lower limbs. Mr Ash Moaveni, Dr Sara Safari, and Mr Wan Zhang have more than fifty combined years of local and international experience repairing hips, shoulders, elbows, wrists, knees and ankles.
We work with you, your GP, sports medicine specialist, physiotherapist, and allied health team to optimise non-operative or surgical treatment of your condition or injury.
Many musculoskeletal conditions respond well to a skilful mix of medication, exercise, and targeted rehabilitative therapies. However, if you need surgery in conjunction with non-surgical treatments, we'll support you throughout this process.
WorkCover and TAC patients, you're welcome here.

These are the fractures, dislocations, and severe soft tissue injuries caused by traumatic events such as road or workplace accidents, falls, or sports injuries.
We specialise in repair and recovery from traumatic injuries to the upper arm (humerus), collarbone (clavicle), shoulder blade (scapula), bicep, and pec tears.
These are "wear and tear" conditions mainly related to aging or overuse. Loss of mobility and strength, joint pain, tenderness, and swelling are common symptoms of these conditions.
They include
-
Bursitis, tendonitis, and arthritis, which can occur in many areas of the body
-
Shoulder conditions such as rotator cuff tears and frozen shoulder
-
Elbow conditions such as tennis elbow, stiff elbow
-
Hand and wrist conditions such as carpal tunnel syndrome and chronic wrist pain
We'll propose a comprehensive treatment plan that considers your age, how active you are, and the goals you want to achieve.
Non-surgical treatments can include anti-inflammatory medications and injections, physical therapy, and rest.
If these treatments don't relieve your symptoms, we'll help you decide on the most appropriate type of surgery.
Sports injuries can result from accidents, flawed technique or training, or inadequate stretching or warm-up routines.
Sports injuries include soft tissue sprains, strains and tears, and bone fractures and dislocations. Most of the injuries we treat result from contact sport collisions.
We'll assess your acute or chronic injuries and discuss the most appropriate treatment. This could be surgery to repair the damage. Alternatively, we may recommend non-surgical treatment involving a combination of physiotherapy and other allied health support and cortisone or Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) injections.
